Observing the Observer:
Going Deeper and Getting Real in Meditation
Half-Day Retreat with the
Bozeman Zen Group
Saturday, October 7th
8:30 am – 1:00 pm
led by Karen DeCotis
When we meditate, we often put much effort into observing our experience. But who is this observer and what filters might be clouding their vision? Using the four foundations of mindfulness, we will practice looking carefully into how we meditate, who is “doing” the meditation, and learn to relax more deeply into our actual experience, without attaching to our conceptions.
This morning of practice will offer tea and a light snack at the beginning (8:00 am) followed by sitting and walking meditation, a dharma talk, and an opportunity to meet with the teacher. A suggested donation of $15 is asked and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
All Are Welcome. Prior registration is encouraged but not required. You may sign up at the Dharma Center or email Kdecotis@gmail.com to register. You may also register online here.
