Mingyur Rinpoche’s approach to meditation focuses on the practice of mindful awareness\, which unlocks the door to a calm mind\, compassionate heart\, and insight into the challenges of day-to-day life. Rinpoche’s teachings emphasize universal principles that are of profound benefit to people of all faiths and belief systems. If you are new to meditation and would like to learn more\, or if you are a seasoned practitioner and would like to deepen your practice\, please join us.  Each session will include guided meditation and group discussion. \n\nMonthly Session Topics\nTergar’s Joy of Living With newly revised material and videos.\nTergar’s Joy of Living is a curriculum developed by Mingyur Rinpoche and Tergar International.  Our Leaders present these materials weekly. \nWe learn\, contemplate and meditate to become familiar with our mind\, to open our hearts and to fully develop the wisdom of knowing we are whole and complete just as we are…we are not broken\, in knowing this we see its true also of all others. \n\n“We are not training in order to learn about objects. We are training to learn about our mind\, because our mind holds the source of all possibilities—good and bad\, happy and sad\, sane and neurotic. Freedom exists within our very own heart and mind.” ~Mingyur Rinpoche \n\n\nWe are currently studying the 6 Paramitas – the Path of Compassion Action.  In this course\, we are exploring the Bodhisattva path and practicing the key points of the six paramitas: generosity\, ethical conduct\, patience\, joyful effort\, meditation and wisdom.  We are investigating the meaning and logic of each of the paramitas and learning how to bring them alive in our everyday lives.   While much of the presentation of this course is being offered through the Buddhist lens\, we will be borrowing from a variety of traditions and disciplines.  The training in love\, compassion and wisdom and caring for the world is at the heart of all great philosophic and spiritual traditions and is a natural calling in all of us.\n\nWe hope you will join us for this exploration of the path of compassionate action ” the intention alone to benefit all beings\, has such power that as you work with it\, your mind will become stronger\, your mental afflictions will diminish; you’ll be more skillful in helping other beings; and in so doing\, you’ll create the causes and conditions for your own well-being.”       -Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche \n\n\nNov 4 – Review and Practice Session of the first two paramitas – Generosity and Ethical Conduct.\nNov 11 – Patience\nNov 18 – Joyful Effort\nNov 25  – NO SESSION  – Happy Thanksgiving Holiday to you all.\n \n\nDec 2 – Review and Practice Session of Patience and Joyful Effort\nDec 9 – Meditation and Wisdom\nDec 16 – Review and Practice Session\nDec 23 and 30  – NO SESSIONS – We wish you all  Merry Christmas\, Happy Hanukkah\, and Happy New Years Holidays.  \n \nComing in January 2027 –\nStudy and practice of the teachings in the book Joyful Wisdom by our teacher Mingyur Rinpoche.\n\nWe hope you will join us. \n\nLearn more about Tergar International! Mingyur Rinpoche’s approach to meditation focuses on the practice of mindful awareness\, which unlocks the door to a calm mind\, compassionate heart\, and insight into the challenges of day-to-day life.
