SUMMARY:MindSpace
DESCRIPTION:MindSpace\n A Meditation Group for adults in the Millennial+ generation\nTuesdays 6:30 – 7:45 pm\nIn Person Only\n \n MindSpace is an open community gathering of young adults 18-40 years of age. Through meditation we foster a clear mind\, compassionate heart\, and develop an intimacy with human experiences. We encourage and support each other in daily practice to embody mindfulness in everyday life. We come together with open hearts and curious\, non-judgmental minds to explore meditation practices and share experiences in bringing practice to daily life. Together we create a supportive community\, including everyone– from every background\, race\, gender identity\, orientation and ability. Please email info@bozemandharmacenter.org if childcare would be helpful for you to attend this group. \nMeeting Structure\n6:25: Gather 6:30: 30 minute meditation 7:00: Reading and Discussion 7:45: End We choose books that are easy to pick up at any point. Drop-ins are welcome! You do not need to have own the book to participate. We are currently reading Time to Stand Up: An Engaged Buddhist Manifesto for Our Earth by Thanissara. Examples of other books we’ve read: — No Self\, No Problem by Anam Thubten (Tibetan tradition) — Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach (Insight tradition) — Training in Compassion by Norman Fischer (Zen tradition) — The Myth of Freedom by Trungpa Rinpoche (Tibetan tradition) \nCurrent Facilitators\n\nAndrew Cassidy’s practice began 15 years ago through a mindfulness-based stress reduction program. A data scientist and lover of the outdoors\, he values mindfulness and meditation as tools for managing stress\, anxiety\, and ADHD. Rooted in a spiritual and dharma-based perspective\, Andrew draws inspiration from the Buddha’s teachings\, emphasizing compassion\, mindfulness\, and wisdom in daily life. \n\n\n\nBrandon Temple is new to meditation and has been exploring mindfulness and self-inquiry over the past several years. His interest in dharma grew from an ongoing curiosity about human consciousness\, and he is interested in cultivating compassion and awareness in daily life as a young adult. \n\n\n\nHayden Pritchard started his practice during graduate school at MSU\, where he attended a mindfulness therapy group\, meditation club and mindfulness-based graduate mentorship program. He joined the Dharma Center in 2025\, and has since explored a variety of teachers and lineages. Hayden hopes to spread compassion and awareness among his peers and community.

SUMMARY:Bozeman Insight Community
DESCRIPTION:Thursdays\, 6:30 – 8:00 pm\nIn person and via Zoom \nBozeman Insight Community (BIC) is a welcoming community that offers the Buddha’s priceless teachings on wisdom and compassion to all those who seek them. Centered on a commitment to personal practice  we support the development and expression of our inherent wisdom  and compassion for the benefit of all beings. \nThe program usually begins with a short teaching to introduce the practice and provide some instruction. Then there is a lightly-guided 30-minute meditation\, followed by tea\, Q&A\, and discussion. We open and close the evening with short chants\, which are provided and completely optional. \nAll are warmly welcome to drop in and join us. No prior experience necessary. If you’d like to talk to one of the leaders prior to attending for the first time\, please email us and we’ll connect. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our sangha. \nWhen in person\, service dogs\, lap babies and school-age children are welcome. There are places in the room and nearby where kids can hang out or do homework. Parents can relax about any disturbance this may cause – our community is not fussy about meditation rooms being super silent (ambient noise is a chance to practice with the conditions and cultivate equanimity). We’d rather have you with us than strive for “perfect” conditions (which don’t exist). \nBIC Leadership\nCouncil Member – Sandy Kindt\nCouncil Member – Megan Higgs\nCouncil Member – Marilyn Raffensperger \nFor leader and council member bios\, more information about this group\, and to see program updates\, please click this link to go to the BIC’s website.

SUMMARY:Recovery Dharma Bozeman
DESCRIPTION:Recovery Dharma Bozeman\nMondays\, 5:30-6:30 PM\nIn Person\n \nRecovery Dharma Bozeman is a peer-led movement and community welcoming anyone looking to heal from addiction and addictive behavior. Our program uses Buddhist practices and principles of meditation\, self-inquiry\, wisdom\, compassion\, and community as tools for recovery and healing. \nOur meetings are open to anyone interested in recovery from addiction of all kinds\, whether caused by substance use or process addictions like codependency\, gambling\, eating disorders\, work\, relationships\, technology\, or any obsessive or habitual pattern that creates suffering. No meditation experience is necessary\, and there is no requirement to believe in anything other than our own potential to change and heal. \nWe understand that this is not the only path to recovery\, and many may choose to combine these practices with traditional recovery programs. We support each other as partners walking the path of recovery together. \nMore information on Recovery Dharma Global\, the peer-led community of which this Bozeman in-person meeting is a part\, can be found here: recoverydharma.org. For questions specific to this Bozeman meeting\, please contact us at recoverydharmabozeman@gmail.com. \n \nFacilitators bios\nWhile our Sangha is peer-led\, the following individuals are responsible for organizing and conducting our meetings\, and ensuring our group’s accountability to the Bozeman Dharma Center (BDC) Board of Directors and other BDC leadership. These individuals regard their service to this Sangha to be an integral part of their own recovery from addiction. \nChris Hansen got sober in 1998 in the rooms of AA and Al-Anon\, and credits working the 12 steps and the fellowship of the program for his sobriety. Subsequent cultivation of a regular yoga practice in conjunction with a daily seated meditation practice has also been integral to maintaining his sobriety. For the past 10 years he has been interested in the various forms of Buddhist practice and Buddhist psychology in general. He has been sitting regularly with the Joining Rivers Sangha\, and enjoys participating in many of the wide array of practice opportunities offered at the Bozeman Dharma Center. He is excited to be helping to bring the Recovery Dharma program to those suffering from addiction. \nCarolyn Swed began turning to the dharma some 10 years ago\, to help her manage internal stress and interpersonal relationships. As her practice grew\, she began to look more clearly into her struggles with alcohol addiction and other compulsive behaviors. She began attending Recovery Dharma meetings online in 2022\, and regards it as an integral part of her recovery\, and growing Buddhist practice. Carolyn is a regular participant and occasional facilitator of the Bozeman Dharma Center’s Joining Rivers Sangha\, and is grateful for the ability to help bring the program of Recovery Dharma to others suffering from addiction. \nAmy Kinman is a lifelong meditator and has been meditating regularly since 2012. She found comfort with Buddhist Dharma in 2022 when healing from PTSD and dependence on various behaviors and substances. Mindfulness\, meditation\, and the Dharma have played key roles in helping her with the challenges of friends and family who are burdened by addiction. Amy learns from many Buddhist traditions and regularly attends meditation retreats as well as special events. She has taught Intro to Meditation at Bozeman Dharma Center and helps facilitate Recovery Dharma meetings.
