About the Workshop

The Buddha named five mental strengths that help us on our way in the spiritual path–  to alleviate ourselves from the mental formations we cling to in our minds. When developed these strengths also help our endeavors in the world.  They are:
  • Faith/ Trust/ Confidence
  • Energy
  • Mindfulness
  • Concentration
  • Wisdom
In this workshop we will learn tools to develop these strengths and how to bring those practices to benefit our lives.
About the Teacher

Melissa McKay has been practicing meditation since the mid 90’s. She has trained in Insight meditation and metta meditation at monasteries in Burma and retreat centers in the U.S. She began teaching in New York City in 2003 in her yoga studio in Brooklyn. More recently she has lived in Las Vegas and teaches with InsightLA, MNDFL and Wanderlust. She was recently given a grant by Hemera Foundation to write a book on Buddhist practice and meditation.
