A Zen Koan Salon

November 6, 13, 20

7-8:30 PM

with Karen DeCotis

A monk asked Joshu, a Chinese Zen master: “Has a dog Buddha-nature or not?” Joshu answered: “Mu.”

Zen koans can aid us in realizing the ever-present realm of the non-dual, and bring forth our essential unity, the “mind of oneness.” Koans are stories with meetings between spiritual aspirants. They are poetic expressions of the breakthrough than can happen when we drop our conditioned clinging to our identity and open to our true nature.

In our koan salon, we will practice and study several stories together. There will be sitting meditation, teaching, exploration, group dialogue,  dreaming, writing and fun. It is not about “getting it” as much as enjoying another way of being with our fundamental questions about life.

Offered for a suggested donation of $5-$20/class.  No one turned away for lack of funds. Register by emailing: info@bozemanzengroup.org.
