Meditation and Cultivation: Living the Good Life

Tuesday February 23
7 – 8:30 PM Mountain Time

ONLINE with Dave Smith

Many people are drawn to Buddhism and Dharma practice because they want to learn meditation. Developing the mind through various meditation practices is a large aspect of the Buddhist endeavor, but by no means, is the whole picture. The teachings of Buddhism inspire us to begin developing the three trainings: Meditation, Ethics and Wisdom. These are the core practices that underline the development of the eight-fold path.

Growing up in a farming and agrarian culture, the Buddha would have been very aware of the concept of seed and fruit. The term cultivation points to a process that is extremely tangible. It provides a process and an outcome that can be understood, applied and experienced.

During this evening class, Dave offers reflections from the early Buddhist tradition and the teaching on cultivation, providing a broader perspective on how we can better understand and embrace Buddhist practice.

Please note that this evening does not use the normal Zoom meeting number. You must register to receive the Zoom meeting information for this class.
