Mindfulness is for Everyone

with Dave Smith

Sunday, April 19

10 AM – Noon (Mountain Time)

During the last three decades the practice of Mindfulness has exploded into the mainstream culture as a verifiable tool for stress reduction, emotional management and psychological well-being.

While there is no universal definition for the word mindfulness it carries a very wide range of meaning. This can be confusing to those who are new to the practice. Some camps of mindfulness place a lot of emphasis on the physical and somatic components of mindfulness. Others use it in conjunction with therapy, or even as an alternative to therapy and medication.  Many identify the role of mindfulness as having better management over thoughts and emotions that allow for more choice and ease in their lives. Others see it as a core aspect to their Buddhist or Dharma practice. Regardless of your interests, these are all good reasons to practice. Can we respect that it means different things to different people? As practitioners, can we be open to multiple perspectives and motivations to practice? I trust that we can.

During this online event, Dave offers multiple perspectives and applications on the practice of Mindfulness in a relaxed and open dialog for all who are interested.
