This Human Dilemma, Part 2
with Dave Smith
Saturday, October 23
9:30 AM -4:30 PM
Boyd Room, Pilgrim Congregational Church
Genuine happiness is the distinct experience of fulfillment and satisfaction based the quality of being we bring to the world, rather than the pleasure resulting from what we get from the world. Emphasizing how we are, not what we get. This kind of happiness can be developed by living with integrity to our own values, cultivating mental and emotion balance and generating the wisdom which allows us to move through the world with confidence, presence, and ease. In this process, we learn to become honest about the difficulties in our live and begin to take responsibility for our habits of denial and distraction that simply don’t serve us. In turn, the experience of blame and regret diminishes as we become aware of how and when we are checking out of what is right in front of us. Learning the power of empathy and compassion encourages and enables us to promote constructive changes in our lives and in this world. We develop an optimistic attitude we as experience and embody genuine happiness.
During this day-long event we will explore a range of ideas and practices supporting us in our endeavor to uncover what is most meaningful to us. There will be educational lecture, guided meditation practice, group process and Q&A. Registration for this daylong includes admission to the Friday night talk.
