Saturday Retreat with Pamela Weiss

Awakening a Fierce Feminine Buddhism

November 13-14

ONLINE retreat with Pamela Weiss

Retreat Description

Like all true spiritual teachings, Buddhism offers a radical shift: from me to we, fracture to unity, and fear to love. But like most institutionalized religions, Buddhism developed under systems of hierarchy, patriarchy, and power that have become interwoven into its structure. All too often, the voices and perspectives of women have been overlooked or ignored.

This online weekend workshop will include teachings, reflections and practices that reweave feminine qualities—of embodiment, nourishment, tenderness and mystery—into the fabric of Buddhist practice, and will share myths and stories of Buddhist women, who surrounded the historical Buddha including his mother, Maya, his aunt, Pajapati, and his wife, Yasodhara. We will also introduce feminine and transfeminine archetypes that offer inspirational examples for addressing the divisiveness and uncertainty we face today.

Our time together will include guided meditation, dharma talks, and interactive inquiry. You will leave with new insights and perspectives, and fresh ways to embody and engage practice in daily life.

People of all genders are welcome.

UPDATED Schedule

All times are in the Mountain time zone.
Friday: (public talk) 7 – 9 PM
Saturday: 10 AM – 4:00 PM (with 1.5 hour lunch break)
There will no longer be a Sunday portion to this retreat.
