Weekend Retreat with Pamela Weiss

Walking the Spiritual Path

Awakening, Integration and Engagement in Buddhist Practice

 with Pamela Weiss

October 5-7

Retreat Information

During this weekend retreat, we will explore the archetypal stages of spiritual life using Joseph Campbell’s universal map of the Hero’s Journey. Pamela will share myths and stories from the life of the Buddha and the women and men who surrounded him as examples for how to embody transcendent wisdom, fierce compassion and wholehearted engagement in the world. You will leave with new insights into your own spiritual path and practice, and tools for integrating your insights into skillful action.

Our time together will include silent and guided meditation, dharma talks, interactive inquiry and ritual. All are welcome. This retreat is appropriate for both newcomers and experienced Buddhist practitioners.

Pamela Weiss has been practicing Buddhism since 1987, including several years of Zen monastic training at Tassajara, and teacher training with Jack Kornfield at Spirit Rock. Pamela leads a weekly sitting group through San Francisco Insight and offers retreats and workshops internationally.

She is also an executive coach and Founder of Appropriate Response, a company that has brought the power of mindful awareness to hundreds of leaders and organizations including Genentech, Salesforce and Pixar.  For more information, visit www.appropriateresponse.com.

Registration Information

Weekend retreats and workshops at the Dharma Center have a 2-part “cost:”  Because the teachings are considered priceless and are to be supported by Dana (a voluntary, anonymous offering of no specified amount) we ask that you consider making a Dana offering to the teacher, in gratitude and support of the teachings – as best fits your circumstances and brings you joy in giving.

Secondly, we ask a sliding-scale registration fee to cover Pamela’s expenses and the cost of putting on the retreat.  Scholarships are always available and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds.

Out of town guests may find this list of resources helpful.

Please make sure to read our Cancellation Policy.

Please enter the number of people you are registering in the box to the right of the rate you are opting to pay.  If you opt for the Benefactor Rate of $175.00, $50.00 (the amount above the base rate) will be considered a tax-exempt contribution.
