Drop-In Meditations

UPDATE: As of March 14, 2020, the BDC is temporarily halting all in-person events including these drop-in meditations. We will meet our need for shared practice through Zoom. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Dharma Center provides a safe and inclusive environment for anyone and everyone to share the mystery and beauty of stillness, silence and collective practice.

Weekday Noon Sits

These drop-in sits are held every weekday from noon- 1 PM in silence. For new meditators or those who wish, there is a sheet with simple meditation instructions available. The bell ringer will ring three bells to begin, one bell on the half hour (for those who may want to come or go) and three bells to end. Latecomers are always welcome to quietly come in and join after the meditation has begun.

BIC Guided Drop-in Sits

Occurring on Tuesday mornings from 10:30 – 11:30 AM, the BIC drop-in guided meditations will vary week to week, providing an opportunity to try new practices and ways of working with life’s challenges. The four heart qualities known as the Brahma Viharas (Noble Abodes) will be cultivated with variations on ways to evoke and develop them: Kindness, Compassion, Joy and Equanimity.

Drop-in meditations are offered free of any charge, as a communal support to practice.
