Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We ask for your name and email when you sign up for one or more of our mailing lists.  We also collect your name and email when you register for a retreat or class.  You may also give us your mailing address at this time.

If you signed up for it and unless you ask us not to, we will email you our monthly newsletter and/or announcements from the BDC.

If you generously give us an online donation, you will be directed to Stripe which will collect billing information from you.  If you register for a retreat or class, you will do so through Stripe which will collect billing information.  Stripe’s privacy policy is found here.

Our anti-Spam protection comes from Akismet which uses various types of data.  Their privacy policy is specified here.

We also use Google Analytics which uses cookies and collects anonymous usage data. “Cookies are small files which are stored on a user’s computer. They are designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client and website, and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. This allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a particular user, or the page itself can contain some script which is aware of the data in the cookie and so is able to carry information from one visit to the website (or related site) to the next (source).” Using cookies, we can analyze user activity in order to improve our website. We can see which pages are most useful, how many users look at our website, etc.

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), we do so through Stripe.  We have a record of payments but not your financial data.  Stripe transmissions are secure. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the donation or registration web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information.
