Buddha’s discourse on Loving-kindness (Metta Sutta) is one of the best known of the Buddha’s discourses. It comes from the oldest part of the Pali Canon, the Sutta Nipata, which is considered by Buddhist scholars to be the authentic words of the historical Buddha. It is one of the few teachings that Buddha recommended committing to memory! Using this Sutta as the basis for study, this consecutive evening exploration on Thursdays, December 6^th and 13^th at 7pm at the Bozeman Dharma Center will explore the history, the meaning, the practice, and the benefits of the practice of loving-kindness.
