Mindful of Race:
Transforming Racism from the Inside Out
by Ruth King

5 Tuesday Evenings,
June 16 – July 14
7:00 – 8:30 PM

led by Alice Robison and Suzanne Colón

This group will be an exploration of Mindful of Race, which brings dharma practice to the arena of racial dynamics. The workshop will include readings, discussion, journaling and interactive exercises.

The workshop is limited to 25 people. If you know that you’ll need to miss two or more sessions, please wait for this workshop to come around again. If there is enough interest, we may have another group meet in the fall.
Signing up is a commitment to read this book and participate with in good faith with a community of fellow curious learners.

This workshop is offered on the Buddhists’ Dāna basis, meaning your contribution is anonymous and of whatever amount works for you. Contributions will be passed on to the Dharma Center for the use of the space, the Insight Community and to the facilitators for a portion of their administrative time. (For those of you who like a suggested contribution, we suggest a base rate of $10 a session, $50 for the series.)

For questions or to join the group, please email
BozemanInsightCommunity@gmail.com

Once we receive your registration request by email, we’ll reply with a confirmation that you have a spot in the group and send more instructions.

We have several copies of the book available for a discounted price of $9. Once your registration is confirmed, you can purchase a copy if still available and we will mail or deliver it to you.

Participants will receive an email each week with some supplemental materials on the history and current forms of systemic racism. For those interested in deepening their inquiry, these are further study and are completely optional. The only reading required for the course is Ms. King’s book.
