Tending to the Urgency and Uncertainty of the Moment
with Leslie Booker
September 16
7 – 9 PM
We’re in an unprecedented confluence of a global pandemic, economic hardship and an unmasking of the systemic racism and injustice that has plagued BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) for centuries. The chaos and uncertainty is felt by everyone; showing up as heartbreak, anger, anxiety, fear and loneliness. It’s imperative to move these emotions skillfully through our bodies so that we may rest, and dream into the world that we want to create. In this two hour online teaching, guest teacher Leslie Booker will guide us in tending to our emotional bodies.
About Booker
Booker brings her heart, wisdom, and compassion to the intersection of social justice, yoga and mindfulness. She has shared these practices with vulnerable populations in New York City since 2006, working in juvenile detention centers, residential treatment centers, and on Riker’s Island.
