7-9 PM

Part 1: How White People Can Show up for Themselves and the Beloved Community with Kristin Barker. July 22.

This evening is primarily for white people to explore Buddhist perspectives on healing systemic racism. We welcome BIPOC who are interested in approaches to uncovering and healing internalized racial conditioning, with the understanding that guest teacher Kristin Barker will be addressing the work of whites in creating beloved community.

About Kristin: Kristin Barker is the co-founder of White Awake™ and an Insight meditation teacher in IMCW in Washington, DC. She is also the director of One Earth Sangha.

Part 2: Decolonizing Our Minds and Cultivating the Causes of Happiness with Bonnie Duran. July 29.

Dharma practice allows us to learn from any circumstances in our world, including a global pandemic, economic inequality, and racial injustice. Guest teacher Bonnie Duran will guide us in connecting to sacred presence, “decolonizing” our minds and cultivating happiness.
